Carvoeiro Town
After a relaxing afternoon we took a drive into Carvoeiro. As we were not sure where we were going we ended up taking the long way round. A couple of days later we’d find the quicker way into town.
The town centre of Carvoeiro is not the biggest in the world but it caters for everyone. There is the usual collection of “British” bars and the more local restaurants, alongside Chinese and Indian restaurants.
Winding our way round the narrow streets we found somewhere to park. We wandered around the town looking for a suitable place to eat, and found a nice little restaurant. The meal that we had was really good, even Ellie enjoyed the food.
After dinner we had a little walk around the streets of Carvoeiro. We stopped off at a little shop to buy Ellie a hat, a football and a bucket and spade for the beach. We’d have to wait till the morning to use them.
The town was really nice, and everyone seemed friendly.
There were plenty of restaurants to choose from and we went to a different one nearly every night. One of the restaurants that we went to was a typical local restaurant. We sat down and ordered our meals. I’d be wanting to try the local dish, Chicken Piri-Piri, since we got there,so I ordered that, Gemma ordered a chicken kebab that came out on a skewer hanging on a frame.
While we waited for our meals, the waiter brought us drinks and also some bread, butter, pate and olives. Ellie was always keen on the bread, no matter which restaurant we went to, and on this occasion it was no different. But this time she decided she’d like some of the pate, which we didn’t think she’d like. Like it she did! And we were also impressed with her, as she showed us that she could spread it on her bread all by herself. We’d never seen her do this before.
I don’t think that we had a bad meal the whole time we were there, which is always good. I think that we’d go back there at some stage.
